Runners information

You can find a lot of information on the English part of our website, but important information for the day of the marathon can be found here:

 

1.               Start times
Marathon  10.30 AM
Half marathon  11.00 AM
10K and 5K  11.15 AM

2.               Bib
You can pick up your starting ticket on Sunday between 8:30 am and 10:45 am in the Olympia sports hall, next to the athletics track. When collecting the starting ticket, you must present this confirmation email (print or by telephone) with the starting number.

3.               Time registration
An IPICO
chip is attached to the back of the bib number, which records gross and net times. No bib number means no time registration.

4.               Route to Spark
The route to our sports field can be found on our website:

 You can park at the Parking of Theater De Stoep and the
Kolkplein garage. There are direction signs that lead you to that Parking. At the information stand on the grounds you can buy an exit ticket for €3. You can pay with a VISA and Mastercard, not in cash.

5.                Pacers
You can recognize the pacers by their reflective vests with the end time on it. Marathon 3.15, 3.30, 3.45, 4.00, 4.15 and 4.30 hours.

6.               Changing rooms
The male runners use the changing rooms of the Sports Hall which is 200m from the start. The female runners use the changing rooms at SPARK. This is only available when you have a pols wrist.

7.               Running a different distance
If you decide to run a different distance than you have registered for, then pass this on to the helpdesk in the Sports Hall. If you change your mind during the run (rather not!) then contact the helpdesk after you have finished.

8  .            Bag deposit
If you have requested this in advance, there will be a sticker on your bib. At the intake you get a number they put on your bag, this number will also be put on your bib. So take this with you when you come to collect your bag. The bag deposit is in the sports hall and will be open till 4.30 PM.

9.            Your own drinks
You can bring your own drinks (marathon every 5K and for the half marathon at 4.5K, 10K, 14.5 and 19K ) and put them before 9:30 AM in the crates in the Sports Hall. Don’t forget to put your bib number on the bottles. Water and Isostar lemon every 5K. For 5K and 10K there are only drinks at the finish.

11.            Time limit
The half marathon has a time limit of 2 1/2 hrs and the marathon of 5 hrs. Transport back to the finish will be provided for runners who do not complete the race in the stipulated time.

12.            ENGRAVING
The medal that you have more than earned, can be made even more valuable by having it engraved for €7. This does not apply to those people who have already paid for engraving at the time of pre-entry. See an example: Engraving

13.            Weather forecast
The weather forecast for Sunday.

14.            Pictures
There will be pictures taken at the finish and they will appear on our website. If you have pictures, please sent the link to the pictures to info@spijkenissemarathon.nl 

15.            Massage
After your run you can get a free massage for your legs. There are masseurs present from 12:30 until 4:00 PM in the fitness room of SPARK

16.            Charity
This year there is special attention for Stichting Ambulance wens.

17.            Smoking
Smoking is prohibited on the grounds.

18.            Start and Award ceremony
The mayor of Nissewaard will start the run at 10:30 AM. Marathon prizes are awarded at 2:00 PM to the men and at 2:30 PM to the women. The prizes of the half marathon are awarded at 12:45 to the men and at 1:00 PM to the women. The prizes for de 5K are awarded at 12:30 starting with the men and immediately afterwards  the 5K women and the 10K men and women.
