It is not smart to stand in the wrong place: you will be overtaken a lot or you will have to overtake a lot and both pose risks. So try to determine in advance whether you should stand at the front, at the back or more halfway.
During the marathon, our pacers will stand in the right place for that speed, indicated by pylons with signs. If all runners stick to that layout, the start will go very smoothly and quickly. The pacers can be recognized by their reflective vests with the time on them. If you are running with a pacer, it is nice to introduce yourself to him or her in advance! Pacers are available at the marathon for 3.15, 3.30, 3.45, 4.00, 4.15 and 4.30 hours.
  • Overtaking
Don't overtake too hard on the narrower sections of the first three kilometres. There are regular overtaking opportunities on the first 600 metres of the track and in between, and from the three kilometres onwards there is a sea of space.
  • Baggage drop-off
If you requested this when pre-registering, there is a sticker on the back of your starting number. The people at the intake will give you a number that will be stuck on your belongings, this number will also be on your starting number. So take this with you when you come to collect your luggage. The drop-off is in the sports hall, you can collect your belongings until 16:30.
  • Cyclists Cyclists
Are allowed on the course, as long as they do not disturb other runners. This is permitted after the first three kilometres (where the Voorweg turns into the Marckenburgweg).
